Unlike many experts and visionaries, Henna did not being her career with a plan to become an expert in something precise, or to become a doctor, engineer, or actuary! She shares that she wasn’t a “whiz” in any one subject area that made it clear to her as to which direction to take (although her first love is mathematics!). Dr. Henna Karna is an India-born, American woman & a proud mother of three, a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin. With dozens of extended family members and the complexity of the various roles, Henna was raised with traditional expectations, demands within cultural constructs, and responsibilities to be a successful breadwinner, Henna doesn’t believe individuals can have it all but that we thrive within teams and by caregiving and caretaking.
